Pre-amplifiers

A pre-amplifier usually is a wideband amplifier contributing only very little noise. Within an EMC measurement environment the pre-amplifier is commonly used during radiated emissions measurements. The pre-amplifier boosts the signals collected by the measurement antenna before they are transferred to the measurement receiver or analyzer. Usually, the amplification is large while the final output power is not.

Our pre-amplifiers are wideband 20 [MHz] – 40 [GHz] and have a “flat” transducer characteristic. Despite the large gain (20 – 40 [dB]) they have a small noise figure. Our pre-amplifiers are being supplied including a highly stable regulated power supply.
