A “pulse limiter” is an essential requirement for the protection of your sensitive measurement equipment against unexpected high pulse disturbances caused by a device. Such a pulse contains a large amount of (wideband) energy and is able to damage components, like input stage, attenuator, pre-amplifier, pre-selector or mixer.

We recommend to use a pulse limiter and/or an attenuator for all measurement receivers, even if it is not supplied by us. Especially during the initial measurements on a device. Our PAT20M [20dB] pulse limiter/attenuator can resist pulses of 1 [Ws].
