ABS-LCF by ABS Technics is a microwave-absorbing material, lightweight, flat, flexible, with an open-cell structure. It consists of a single-layer polyurethane foam core covered with a dielectric graphite solution with flame-retardant properties.
It is widely used in various RF applications across a broad frequency range. The RF performance of the material is related to its thickness and target frequency. The typical operating frequency is above 3 GHz, with thicker material being used for the lower frequency range.
Applications:
- Reduction of surface waves in antennas
• Reduction of side lobes in antennas
• Coating of radar, often with a protective coating
• Inside RF enclosures to dampen standing waves
• Reduction of interference between RF systems
The standard version consists of plates measuring 610 x 610mm with thicknesses of 10, 15, and 25mm. The maximum operating temperature is +90°C. Custom dimensions and shapes are available, as well as adjustments for strongly curved surfaces. Some applications require a dust-free material; ABS-LCF can also be provided with a protective coating.
If reflectivity is required, the material can be supplied with an integrated metal backing layer. It can also be supplied with a galvanized steel plate as a support or with a conductive foil on the back or with a self-adhesive tape
