A Line Impedance Stabilization Network or LISN is a test device that measures disturbances that are generated by a connected electrical device and which are passed on via cabling. These high-frequency disturbances pollute the mains; other devices may be disrupted or even get damaged.
Most LISNs are only made to measure according to the standard. These often lack integrated accessories for safe and easy measurement. Elab-Tools has integrated these, in particular:
– voltage limiter to secure the connected spectrum analyzer
– band-pass filter against cross modulation or clipping
– splitter for detecting common mode and differential mode signals
– 250µH pre-filter, to filter interferences on the power supply
– universal socket, to also be able to measure American equipment
The only measurement connections are a BNC to the spectrum analyzer, 90-250Vac 16A to the device under test and a connection for an artificial hand.
That is why a LISN from Elab-Tools can be used to build a robust test set-up in which safety for the connected equipment and ease of operation are highest priority.
