Parker Chomerics THERM-A-GAP GEL 50VT is a reusable, silicone thermal interface gel with a thermal conductivity of 5.2 W/m-K. This material is specifically designed to transfer heat from electronics to heat sinks or enclosures. The designation “VT” stands for vertical tack and indicates reliable performance in both vertical applications and vibration-intensive environments.
During its development, GEL 50VT underwent various reliability tests, including automotive tests for sagging and strong vibrations, as well as long-term telecom tests for thermal verification.
THERM-A-GAP GEL 50VT does not require mixing and cures in ambient air. It is designed for easy processing and rework. It can be applied in various thicknesses, typically up to 4 mm. Its function is to compensate for gaps and air spaces that occur during assembly and production.
Like all Parker Chomerics thermal materials, GEL 50VT is developed to meet the stringent requirements of modern, reliable electronics and is suitable for automated dispensing machines, rework, and field repairs. In addition to this variant, a range of thermal interface materials is available for many applications and diverse end markets.
